Values
Your mountain experience
Demanding and accurate
Each outing is carefully chosen to suit the level and desires of our customers. The guides at the Méribel Office carefully assess the difficulty, snow conditions and terrain to ensure that everyone has a memorable experience. This guarantees not only safety, but also the satisfaction and pleasure of enjoying the mountains to the full.
A passion for the field
Winter and summer alike, we love exploring the treasures of the 3 Vallées: from the vastness of the glaciers to the great snow corridors, from the peaceful mountain pastures to the wild undergrowth, from the tapering ridges to the playful canyons. This passion translates into a quest for the best routes, quiet spaces, virgin snow and unique panoramas. Our guides know every nook and cranny and put that knowledge to work to create memorable, authentic outings.
A sense of sharing and global experience
Beyond safety, the pleasures of the slopes and the summits, we attach particular importance to the overall experience. Whether it's choosing a beautiful spot for a picnic, a quality table, or creating moments of personal challenge, every outing is designed to be enriching and enjoyable. We want our customers to leave with unique memories, thrills and a real connection with the mountains - and with us!
History
At the heart of the Alps and the Three Valleys, the passion of the Méribel guides
At the heart of the Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world, Méribel has established itself as a resort of excellence.
The Bureau des Guides was set up here in the 1970s, initially focusing on mountaineering and exploring the Vanoise and Tarentaise regions, before expanding its summer offering with iconic routes such as the Dent de Burgin via ferrata.
The winter activity took off in 1996, driven by the development of ski touring and off-piste skiing. Specialists in all aspects of the mountain, the High Mountain Guides are the only ones fully qualified to supervise these activities and the only ones authorised to guide on glaciers. They explore with their clients the immense playground of the Three Valleys - Gebroulaz, the great couloirs of the Saulire, the virgin slopes of the Encombres, or the unspoilt valleys of the Avals - before sometimes extending the adventure to other horizons: Japan, Scandinavia, the Dolomites or Denali.
Today, the Méribel Guides' Office offers a full range of activities, summer and winter alike: canyoning, climbing, via ferrata, mountaineering, off-piste skiing, ski touring and snowshoeing. Its team of High Mountain Guides and Mountain Leaders with complementary backgrounds, united by the same human and professional values, guarantees unique, intense and safe mountain experiences.
