The Dent de Burgin via ferrata, the highest in France, is nevertheless very accessible.
Located at the summit between Méribel and Courchevel, it takes place in a high mountain setting offering panoramic views of the Alps and Mont Blanc. The route follows the ridge between the Saulire and the Dent du Burgin, culminating at 2,737 metres.
After a gondola ascent and a short 15-minute approach on foot, the route begins easily up to «Curé», a 60-metre-high tooth offering a spectacular descent. The rest of the route alternates between passages on the ridge and on the face, all the way to the top of the via ferrata, where the 360-degree view is exceptional.
It takes around 1 hour 30 minutes to cable back to the starting point of the via ferrata, followed by a 15-minute ascent to the Pas du Lac cable car.
After the cable car ride up, it's a short 10-minute walk to the start. The route starts gently and then crosses «le Curé»: a 60-metre-high tooth. Another 1? hours is needed to reach the summit for a picnic.
The return journey takes 1 hour 30 minutes and is still cabled, followed by a 15-minute climb to the top of the gondola.
We take children aged 12 and over accompanied by an adult.
For reasons of quality and safety, we take a maximum of 6 people per group.
If you want to come with us, you'll need to have previous experience of climbing or via ferrata. Some passages are vertiginous but not difficult.
You'll need to be in good physical condition for this day, as we're at altitude with around 500 metres of ascent in all.
