BeginnerA good level of downhill skiing (red runs), but experience of all-snow skiing is limited to short forays along the slopes.

IntermediateThe ability to ski on any piste in any conditions (icy black runs, etc.), with considerable off-piste experience (being able to ski classic ungroomed itineraries quite far from the lifts, in a variety of snow types, whether "filmy" or a little more challenging, etc.).

ExpertThe aim is to achieve complete mastery of mountain skiing in all its forms: long off-piste itineraries, ease in couloirs, steep slopes, and all demanding itineraries where every movement must be perfectly executed.

BeginnerIdeal for those who: don't particularly enjoy endurance sports, can ski on piste for a day with regular breaks. Would like to discover the pleasures of off-piste mountain skiing with introductory itineraries that are not too physically demanding.

IntermediatePhysical fitness: Practises endurance sports fairly regularly, able to walk for about two hours with a reasonable amount of ascent. Can ski a whole day on the slopes without getting too tired at the end.

ExpertEndurance sports: practises endurance sports assiduously, can walk for several hours with a significant difference in altitude, and is capable of several significant climbs in the course of a single walk.
